The library was dedicated in 1961 and named for
Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Townsend as the University’s first permanent
library. The library contains approximately 150,000 volumes,
250,000 microforms and 3,000 periodicals. Students have access
to over 60 electronic databases providing abstracts, full-text
journal articles, and reference sources –all provided through 23
patron desktop computers. In fall 1994, a 15,000 square foot
addition was completed. The library has a completely
computerized catalog system providing access to any materials
needed via interlibrary loan. |
