30. York Sesquicentennial Plaza

About the York Sesquicentennial Plaza:
The York Sesquicentennial Plaza is located at the south end of the campus mall (quadrangle) honoring Dr. and Mrs. C.L. York. Dr. York taught Biology beginning in 1953 and retired in 1973. It is a lasting reminder of UMHB’s first 150 years and commemorates the 1995 celebration. In May 2002, the bronze statue of Forth From Her Portals was added to the center of the plaza.
